Fat Albert`s in Portland

Second time here, first time was 5 years ago. Both times I had a great meal and service was good. Solid breakfast spot.

Nice small diner. 10 for a lunchtime sandwich.No espresso

What a great little gem in Sellwood! Amazing food at reasonable prices and the portions definitely live up to the name. I had the breakfast burrito and could only finish half of it. The service was great as well. Really the only downfall would be that they are cash only so be sure and come prepared. I'll definitely be going back soon!

One of my favorite "breakfast places" in metropolitan Portland. Good food, good coffee and great service.

This place is downright nostalgic! Such a cool vibe and tons of tasty breakfast classics! Always such a delight!

They have a delicious omelette with that comes with sour cream and salsa and they do Benedict's on the weekends. The only downside is they don't accept cards, cash only.

Delicious & great service! It’s cash only and a tight space with limited seating so get there early! Though, in the summer they have outdoor seating.

We love Fat Albert's! I work as a PSW and the staff is so welcoming to my client and his family. They are so nice, the food is delicious and the coffee is always hot! Will definitely be going back as often as I'm able!

Good service, ok food. Good coffee, biscuit was average. Sausage was average, potatoes decent. Not super expensive, but could get the same thing a few dollars cheaper.

Great place with huge portions!! Chefs special is always Best!! Add avocado to any dish to make it healthier! Only downside is coffee. Price and quality in my opinion is not worth it.

Very cool spot. I tried this spot while visiting from Houston Texas and I loved it! our server was very friendly, clean establishment, and portion sizes that were more than enough! and that is saying something coming from a Texan! I also really liked how they had really good vegetarian and even vegan options. This was one of the first spots I got to eat at while visiting, and I was not disappointed. I would recommend coming to this spot with a appetite! also this place is pretty inexpensive!

Good food and excellent service but they only take cash! With all of the card readers available now, I don't know why any restaurant what only take cash.

Biscuits and gravy was good and massive. French toast was decent and the bacon was nice and crispy. Service was friendly

Great food. Usually you will have to wait on weekends. But fair priced and large portions. You can share a plate or have left over breakfast for tomorrow.

Brenna served us Alica was the chef. They took special care to accommodate my son who is allergic to eggs. I extremely appreciate that. They were fast friendly and man just awesome! I recommend anybody stop by this little spot and check them out they'll take good care of you.

Loved the place. Everything is priced quite low unlike every other restaurant in Portland that thinks they’re some high end place. The food was great and the service was just as great! Our server was great, she explained everything to us and the food came out very fast. The restaurant is also in a nice area... pretty hip but so if the rest of Portland. I would definitely recommend going to the place.

Stopped here before heading out to depo bay. All the locals kept telling me how the breakfast here is great and this place did not disappoint

The absolute worse chicken fried steak I have ever had! It tasted freezer burnt.And the pancakes you couldnt cut with a fork.We come from a big foodie family and friends....I wont be recommending this place ever!However on a good note the gentleman that was busing tables was a sweetheart!

Service is excellent.Space is limited but comfortable.Food is large portions and very good.Older establishment could use some updating and cleaning.

Unimpressed. The food was okay, not great but not bad. It was more the service which was lacking. I ordered burrito and asked for no onions but was then told they were cooked and I said that was fine (sauteed onions I'm fine with) however the burrito had a large amount of raw onion, none cooked. Whether server was mistaken or kitchen mistake I don't know. The server then poured a hot pot of coffee over my baby's head....that is unacceptable. Wouldn't go back.

Great food, FAST service. I want to say thank you to everyone here. Our daughter gets very excited around groups of people and screams. Not once did they make us feel bad or give side eyes. As we were leaving the cook looked at our daughter and told her to have a good day. It's the little things people don't realize that make a difference. Thank you, we'll definitely be coming back! Also, love the community table idea.

With all the trendy, hipster-ridden, "aesthetically pleasing" spots in Portland, this is a relief. No frills. Great service, warm and friendly staff, and good food. You can sit at a table or at the bar. HIPSTERS, STAY AWAY. There's nothing IG-worthy to post here. Just a good experience. So put your phone away.

Good size portions , Food wasn't the best service was OK

The breakfast at Fat Albert's was really good. Seating is limited. I ended up sitting at the community table with a great family. The food was definitely in the higher price range then I usually spend on breakfast, but the food was delicious so I didn't mind spending a little more. They do not except cards CASH or CHECK only! Luckily I had a checkbook in my car.

This cute little cafe is hole in one! Tucked away in a hole in the wall space, its homey and delicious. I loved the Marionberry French Toast. The hot chocolate wasnt the best but it wasnt terrible.
